Lecture "Holocaust in Hungary: Seventy Years Later"

"Holocaust in Hungary: Seventy Years Later" by Dr. Tamás Kovács
on Tuesday, April 29, at 17:30 at the museum "Jews in Latvia", Skolas 6, Riga.
The lecture will be presented in English.
The lecture will cover some peculiarities and specific aspects of the Holocaust in Hungary and their contemporary interpretation. Special attention will be paid to the perception of the Holocaust in contemporary Hungarian public discourse and collective memory, as well as the related discussions and conflicts of the recent years.
Dr. Tamás Kovács is Assistant Director of documents to 1945 at the National Archives of Hungary and lecturer at the University of Pannonia in Veszprem, Research Associate at the Holocaust Memorial Center, Budapest (2003-2008). His special field is the Hungarian police, military and civil secret service during Horthy era and the Holocaust in Hungary.
