Concert of LONDON KLEZMER QUARTET

11.06.2014

Wednesday, 18 June 2014, 6 p.m.
at the museum "Jews in Latvia"

We have a pleasure to invite you to the concert of

LONDON KLEZMER QUARTET

The concert will be a kind of commented journey, an introduction to a broad variety of genres of traditional Jewish music, every piece performed being accompanied by a relevant story and properly explained.

The London Klezmer Quartet plays celebratory and spiritual music originating in Jewish eastern Europe. The group’s traditional approach to the genre lends an authenticity to their sound and their "virtuosity, exciting original tunes and soulful playing" (Sunday Times) are building their reputation globally, including in Australia where they have just completed a third tour. Prepare for a musical journey from the Baltic to the Black Sea, and from Kiev to Karrada with Susi Evans (clarinet), Ilana Cravitz (violin), Indra Buraczewska (double bass) and Ilya Shneyveys (Riga, accordion).

Entrance: Free
